Magic Lantern ist eine eigenständige Erweiterung der Firmware für Canon DSLR Kameras, die zusätzlich zu der Standardfirmware gestartet wird. Ursprünglich für Filmemacher entwickelt bietet es jetzt viele zusätzliche Möglichkeiten für Video und Fotobegeisterte, inklusive manueller Tonaussteuerung, Zebras für zu helle/dunkle Bereiche, Fokus-Assistenten, Reihenaufnahmen, Bewegungserkennung und vieles mehr!

Bekannte Fehler und Verbesserungen (für die 22. August Version)[]
- ML bilder sind bei der HDMI Ausgabe gestört (wird bearbeitet, Tester benötigt).
- Any redraw operation on external monitors (HDMI or SD) may cause crash (fixed).
- Pressing PLAY many times quickly may crash the camera if no images/videos are on the card [3] (partially fixed).
